A Life Full of Meaning滿有意義之人生
Date on original cover: 2018原封面日期:2018
His book on the purpose of life, in four parts: life as a testing period, sowing and reaping, making wise choices, and carrying out the Great Commission. Each part closes with practical applications and a poem of his own, written to a classical tune.
論人生目的之作,共分四篇:人生乃是試驗期、種甚麼必收甚麼、須作智慧之選擇、當行主的大使命。每篇末附實際應用,並自作詞一首,各依古調。
The book argues from the Hebrew and Greek throughout: it is the work in which he sets out most plainly why he reads the original languages rather than a translation, and it names the places where he thinks the Chinese Bible renders a word wrongly.
全書從希伯來文與希臘文立論,最能見他為何堅持依原文釋經,書中亦逐一指出他認為中文聖經譯錯之處。
「因人非自造,故當順天道。欲想有意義,行知不能少。」“Since man did not make himself, he ought to follow the way of Heaven. If you would have meaning, doing what you know cannot be left out.” Preface.
Source and editions原稿與版本
The Chinese is his own manuscript, held in the family archive. Its title page reads 得著有意義之人生 — “Attaining a Life of Meaning” — while the family’s copy of the printed book is catalogued as 滿有意義之人生; the catalogue title is kept here. The table of contents lists an appendix, 祂你我, which the manuscript does not contain; that testimony is his memoir, published separately in this library.
中文為家人檔案所存之原稿。稿本封面題為《得著有意義之人生》,家人藏書則作《滿有意義之人生》,本頁從書目所題。目錄列有附錄〈祂你我〉,惟稿本並無此篇;該見證即其回憶錄,已另行收入本館。
Translated from the Chinese in September 2026 and checked against it section by section: every scripture reference compared, paragraph counts matched. Where he cites a reference that does not match the verse he quotes, his number is printed as he wrote it. Two references he gives without a book name are named from context.
二〇二六年九月由中文譯出,並逐節核對:比對全部經文出處,核對段落數目。凡經文出處與所引經句不符者,一概按他所寫保留。另有兩處他未寫書卷名,依上下文補出。
English titles and translated excerpts are provided for readers of this library. The Chinese version preserves the original wording.
