Becoming a Fisherman of Souls作屬靈的漁夫

His book on evangelism, written out of forty years of it. Its argument is that the person matters before the method: “Only with these eight polished faces can a person be an excellent fisherman.” Eight chapters set out what the one who preaches must be — born again, renewed by the Spirit, real in faith, sound in belief, like Christ, gifted to preach, taught by a master, and a spiritual mother to those he brings in.
論佈道之作，出於四十年傳道經驗。全書主張先有其人，後有其法：「有了這『八面玲瓏』，才能作個優秀的漁夫。」八章分述傳道者當有的八方面——得重生之生命、求聖靈之更新、存真實之信心、持純正之信仰、像基督之樣式、有傳道之恩賜、受名師之指點、作屬靈之慈母。
The seventh chapter is the practical one: two methods he used himself, one that reads six passages of Luke with a willing hearer, one that reasons the case through with someone who will argue. He gives his own success rate for each. The three appendices cover a fisherman’s conduct, the wisdom he must seek, and the myths he must see through — among them the assumption that everyone in the congregation is already saved.
第七篇最為實用：載他自己所用的兩種方法，一是與願讀經者同讀路加福音六段經文，一是與肯講理者逐層說理，並各記其成功率。附錄三篇分論漁夫之操守、當求之智慧，以及當識破之「虛構」——其一便是以為會眾都已得救。

Source and editions原稿與版本
The Chinese is his own manuscript, held in the family archive. The two forewords are dated March and May 2011 and are signed by Chu Cheong-lun, International General Secretary of the Chinese Gospel Mission, and by Ng Kwong-mau of New York; they are translated here as part of the book. The author’s note at the end differs slightly from the one printed in his other books, listing fewer titles, and is kept as it stands in this manuscript.
中文為家人檔案所存之原稿。兩篇序文分別署二〇一一年三月及五月，出朱昌錂（中華福音使命團國際總幹事）與紐約吳光謀之手，今一併譯出，視為本書之一部分。書末〈筆者簡介〉與他書所印略有出入，所列著作較少，今依此稿保留。
